SeƱor Perro and Perrito

With help from B, these two dog puppets have been tucking our kids in at night and waking them up in the morning for the past couple of weeks.  The kids think they are hilarious.  Little Guy cracks up hysterically over them.

Hiding Spot

The other day we were sitting reading a book near our table while the kids had their night time snack and B pointed out that if he was a kid, he'd totally lie down on all the pushed in chairs and hide. So he did it. And then Princess Sparkley and Buddy did it. Crazy people.

Baby X and Daddy Go Wild at Lowe's

B took Baby X with him to the hardware store the other day. About half an hour after they left, I got this picture sent to my phone.

Asleep, sitting up

We had to go to a playdate on the 24th, so I went to wake Baby X up from his nap. This is what I found. He fell asleep, sitting up, in the corner of his crib, without even his head tipping over or leaning on anything.

Brushing His Teeth

I heard a clatter in our bathroom the other day that I realized was Baby X going for his toothbrush. But when I found him, I discovered he hadn't just grabbed his toothbrush, he'd grabbed the entire family's toothbrushes.

April Fools

B and I aren't big pranksters, so April Fool's Day goes by pretty much unnoticed at our house. A day or two after April Fool's Day, Princess Sparkley was reading my Family Fun magazine (the girl reads anything she can get her hands on these days) and saw all the fun April Fools ideas. So, we tricked daddy a couple days late.

We told Daddy that we were doing April Fool's Day, and the trick was we were having dessert for dinner and dinner for dessert. The real trick was that this cupcake is actually meatloaf and mashed potatoes (and possibly the yummiest meatloaf I've ever had).

Our new neon colored food dye was especially helpful in turning our mashed potatoes into cupcake frosting.

He wasn't especially fooled by the cupcakes. BUT, the drink really fooled him. He assumed it was colored water. It was Jell-O!!

For dessert, we had a "dinner" of sushi. Our sushi was really rice krispy treats, gummy worms and fruit by the foot.

Last Week

Left to Right
Top to Bottom
ish

Pretty PS.
Baby X's tongue still out a lot.
Buddy and PS on their "Hawaiian Vacation."
This is Buddy's big smile he gives to all little babies now to make them smile at him.
Buddy wearing his bike helmet throwing a fit... he's been doing that a lot lately.
A Strawberry Cheesecake Pie I made... so yummy and pretty.
Baby X throwing kisses (not really, he won't to that... probably shoving food in his mouth).
PS in disguise as a redheaded girl with pigtails.
My finished reupholstered chairs at the table.
Cute Baby X.
PS holding up a picture of this mysterious redheaded, ponytail girl and warning me that I should watch out for her.

Baby X Loves Being Chased

Baby X's new thing is that he loves being chased. We discovered it because he started trying to run away from us when he had something he wasn't supposed to have and we tried to get it from him.

Funny

The drive from here to Grandma and Grandpas is about 4 hours. Buddy discovered that he can see things going past his window in this little mirror. I thought he looked hilarious.

Such a cute smile. Such a goofy ensemble. She wanted
her hair wrapped up like mine after her bath at Grandma's.

My clowns

Princess Sparkley and Buddy decided to dress up as clowns the other day. Buddy came down first just wearing Princess Sparkley's red ruby slippers cracking me up and then went upstairs and said, "Mommy likes it." Then he came down in the complete outfit (minus pants) and Princess Sparkley followed.

Where's the camera when you need it?

My son is obsessed with Santa. Sort of. Not the "real" Santa. He doesn't want to go near anyone dressed in a jolly red suit. He's obsessed with being Santa. The other day he took his shirt of and got it stuck on his head and it was his Santa hat. Today he was wearing a red shirt, so he talked me into turning it backwards so there was no writing on the front. Then he and Princess Sparkley decided the only red pants they own are her corduroy, girlie red pants. So he's wearing his red shirt, tucked into red corduroy pants that make him sort of look like pictures I imagine exist of my brother in the 70s. And he has a belt, with a yellow rubberband wrapped around it to be the big golden buckle. And he's wearing red Lightening McQueen slippers. All of this, and the camera is out of town with my husband. Ahhh... but I've just remembered we have a webcam that may just be able to capture this hilarious picture.

And as soon as I mentioned the webcam, Princess Sparkley went and got herself dressed as Santa's wife.

Licking, MO

Two fun things about Licking, MO. Firstly, and obviously the name (hence the picture below of B trying to lick the city limit sign). Secondly, there is some sort of athletic apparrel company so they have a water tower painted to look like a baseball. Boy is all about sports, especially baseball. And a water tower is of course cool to any three year old. So here's the baseball water tower.
